How We Met
I, Vertoria, started attending Macedonia Baptist Church in Greenwood when I was around 4 years old, and that is when I first met Ankoma. He used to be so sharp and wear a snazzy blue suit. Needless to say, I always had a secret crush on him. As we grew in the church together, we would often talk and became friends. The summer before our sophomore year in high school, we went to the Congress of Christian Education together in Florence, SC. We sat beside each other for the journey to the congress and while there discovered that we had a lot in common. He made me laugh! He kept serenading me with Mario's "Just a Friend." Since then, we have been inseparable. Our 8 year courtship ended on September 18, 2010 when he proposed! I'm excited about spending the rest of my life with my soul mate and best friend.
The Proposal
From a distance I have always admired Vertoria. It wasn't until a trip to Congress together, however, that I was finally able to muster up enough courage to make a move. I had a talk with my dad and told him how much I wanted Vertoria to sit beside me on the church van. Every since that summer that I just about broke my neck to sit beside her, I knew Vertoria was the one God made just for me. I knew that God had me in mind when he created her, for she is the masterpiece of art that is all mine. I let her know this when I caught her by surprise and proposed to her at a secretly planned dinner with all of our family and friends. She said yes with tears in her eyes and now we are excitedly awaiting to spend the rest of our lives together.
